MATCHING GIFT OPPORTUNITY

Deery of Ames has generously offered to match donations that are given to Martha’s House of Hope through a recurring commitment (up to the first $250 committed per month). When you commit to any recurring amount, whether it be $5 or $50, your donation will be doubled. This is a wonderful time to consider making a regular financial commitment to Martha’s House of Hope because it will have twice the impact.

If you would like to take advantage of this matching gift opportunity, please click “Donate Online” and check the box for “Make this gift recurring.” You can then create an account so that you can set up the frequency and amount of your gift.

Gifts of any size are greatly appreciated and will be acknowledged in an annual report. Martha’s House of Hope is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and your gift may qualify as a charitable deduction for tax purposes. Please contact Jessica Loecke at info@marthashouseofhope.org if you have any questions about this opportunity or would be interested in visiting about other ways to support Martha's House of Hope.

CARES ACT

Tax Benefits of the CARES Act

As you may have heard, the recently passed CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security) Act expanded charitable giving incentives to encourage donations to nonprofit organizations in 2020. We would like to highlight a couple ways this may affect your giving.

* If you take a standard deduction, you are able to make a charitable deduction of up to $300 for a cash donation ($600 for married couples filing jointly). You do not need to itemize to receive this deduction.

* If you itemize your deductions, the CARES Act allows for cash contributions to be deducted up to 100% of your adjusted gross income for the 2020 calendar year.

* Corporations that make charitable gifts can now give 25% of their taxable income, up from the previous limit of 10%.

Please consult your tax advisor for clarification on how these changes may apply to your circumstances.
